Ambaji is a town in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat, India. It's a famous pilgrimage site on the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The town is surrounded by the Araveli Hills and is 480 meters above sea level. Ambaji is home to the Ambaji Mata Temple, which is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. It's believed that Maa Sati's heart fell at this location. According to legend, Lord Vishnu cut the corpse of Sati with his weapon (Sudarshan Chakra) and 51 pieces fell on Earth.
